Ju Shou was a brilliant strategist and tactician who served under the warlord Yuan Shao during the late Eastern Han dynasty of China. He was known for his ability to see the big picture and develop plans that would take into account all of the factors involved. He was also a skilled diplomat and was able to negotiate favorable terms for Yuan Shao in a number of important alliances.
One of Ju Shou's most famous strategies was the "Empty Fort Strategy." This plan was used to defeat the warlord Cao Cao in the Battle of Guandu. Cao Cao had a much larger army than Yuan Shao, and it seemed that he was sure to win. However, Ju Shou devised a plan to trick Cao Cao into thinking that Yuan Shao's army was much larger than it actually was. He had the gates of Yuan Shao's camp left open and the fires lit, making it appear that the army was still there. Cao Cao was fooled by this ruse and retreated, allowing Yuan Shao to win the battle.
